If you never watched the HBO series The Wire, you really missed out. It was one of the most intense, realistic, and moving depictions of inner-city decay ever. It was written by a former police reporter, David Simon, who truly loves his city — loves it enough to show its warts and all. If you haven’t seen it, look for it. It really is that good.
