Igor Panarin is a Russian academic and political scientist. He was in the KGB, and now is dean of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s academy for future diplomats. He’s no crank. He’s most famous for his prediction that an economic and moral collapse would cause a US civil war that would lead to the breakup of the USA. His guess was that it would happen by 2010, but otherwise his prediction is sounding pretty wise.
I have no doubt that we’re headed toward an economic collapse. The weight of our national debt is dragging us down, and the Fed’s “Quantitative Easing” (aka currency devaluation) is leading to inflation that’s not going to go away any time soon. And as far as moral degradation, one needs only to look at the the state of Florida charging George Zimmerman with second degree murder despite its obvious lack of a case. Oh, and when the case is thrown out (or he’s found not guilty) how many of our cities are going to burn in the ensuing riots? We’re pretty much screwed.
Panarin thinks we’d split into 5 separate countries (or regions of other countries), and I can’t argue that much with the lines he draws:
The maddening thing is, it doesn’t need to come to this. Our elected “leaders” know that what they’re doing is leading us toward financial doom, but they don’t want to be the ones to make the painful choices. Instead they step on the gas pedal as they steer us towards a cliff.
I’m a father and a husband, and the thought of my family going through this shakeup terrifies me. I honestly don’t know what I can do to prepare, other than stocking up on food and ammunition. What do you think, gentle readers?
